As part of the FY-2016 Budget, the City Council approved a project that will replace a under-sized and underperforming water main in your neighborhood. The City awarded a contract to Gerardi Sewer and water, Inc. to perform work that will involve installation of new water main, new water services (up to the yard shut-off box), and roadway/landscape restoration. This work is being completed ahead of cooperative project between the Salt Creek Rural Park District and the City of Rolling Meadows - South Park/Theda Area Flood Control Improvement Project.
The water main improvements are scheduled to begin the week of August 1st, weather permitting. The work involves removal and replacement of approximately 1,300 linear feet of old six (6) inch cast iron water main with eight (8) inch ductile iron water main. Additionally, the City will be replacing all water services within the right-of-way. This project is being completed as part of a more holistic approach to project planning of the City's capital improvements. As such , the City expects to completed roadway resurfacing within this subdivision as part of the FY-2017 Capital Improvement Plan.
