Due to a large amount of water main breaks that resulted in multiple boil orders in late June/ July 2023 due to the age/ condition/ and soil conditions the City has moved to get an emergency permit from the IEPA to replace approximately 820 linear feet of 6" water main with a new 8" water main. This will create longevity and redundancy for Kimball Hill School and surrounding businesses within the Jewel Shopping Center.
Construction Limits
The construction will take place within utility easements spanning from Meadow Drive west approximately 820 linear feet. See the picture link below.
Weekly Project Updates:
8/24/23 Currently, Lenny Hoffman has run the watermain in its entirety. They will be coming back to install inline valves, fire hydrants, and Leeds, pressure test, and then chlorinate the water main. Once that is complete the City will notify the affected parties when the tie in's will occur.
