Duties & Responsibilities
The Investigations Unit is responsible for:
  • Following up with investigations
  • Gathering intelligence
  • Investigating juvenile and specialized cases
  • Overseeing evidence technicians and crime scene Investigators
  • Providing tactical services
Staff Structure
The Investigations Unit is comprised of:
  • 1 Commander
  • 1 Sergeant
  • 4 Investigators
  • 2 Tactical Officers
  • 1 Junior High School Liaison Officer
  • 1 High School Liaison Officer
Mobile Command Unit
Our Mobile Command Unit (MCU) stores much of our evidence-collecting equipment used at major incidents.

The MCU is used to process crime scenes and to assist with accident investigations.
Major Case Assistance Team-MCAT

In the event of a major crime scene incident this vehicle would be used. The MCAT Forensic Incident Command vehicle stores more equipment than the RMPD Incident command vehicle. This mobile forensic unit is an asset to Rolling Meadows and all the other communities MCAT serves.
