The Rolling Meadows Police Department is proud to announce its 3rd annual Rolling Meadows Police Holiday House Decoration Contest. Let us all show Chief Nowacki the Holiday spirit and pride that Rolling Meadows residents have with their brightly lit and decorated houses. Do you want to show off your ability to decorate and light up your house? Would you like to show off your decorated house to the several thousand Facebook followers the Rolling Meadows Police Departmenthas and show the pride you have in your home?

If you answered YES! Then we want to see your holiday decorations and how brightly lit your house is decorated for this holiday!!

Nominate your house for the best decorated and brightly lit house in Rolling Meadows.

This contest will begin December 3, 2016 and run until December 26, 2016.

All entries must be received by December 26th at 11:00pm. Sorry, no exceptions.

There are two (2) ways of entering this competition:

The first way is to submit your night time photographs of your brightly lit or decorated house to the following email address and please don’t forget to give us the physical address in the same email to: rollingmeadowspolice@gmail.com

VERY IMPORTANT: Facebook Messenger photos will NOT be accepted, you must use the Gmail address provided. Also, the physical location of your house, and your email address is ONLY for our records and will never be shared or posted.

The second way of entering this contest is when the officer that is on patrol in your neighborhood sees a house that he/she feels meets the criteria of brightly lit or decorated in his or her mind will knock on your door and ask if you would like to be in this contest. At that point when you say “Yes” a photo of your house will be posted live to our Facebook page at that very moment. Then it is your job to promote your house by getting your friends to like your post and like our page.

Here is how the contest works so it is fair for everyone…

Photo’s of the top five houses receiving the most Facebook ‘Likes’ per post, not per photo, will be submitted to Chief Nowacki for his review. When he looks at the top 5 houses he will NOT know which house post has the most "Likes", He will only know that these are the top 5 houses that met the criteria by “Likes” to be placed in front of him for his winning decision.

Chief Nowacki will then pick the top 3 houses that he believes meets the criteria of brightly lit or decorated in his personal opinion. Those three houses will be ranked in order by him from 1st to 3rd place. The winners of these top 3 houses will receive the prizes mentioned and be awarded “The Best Holiday Houses in Rolling Meadows” the top 5 will all receive certificates and the 2 runner ups will receive certificates and the runner up prize. The winning houses will be announced sometime before New Year’s Day.
