About the Program
A Knox Box is a hardened steel case that fits over a resident’s door that can only be accessed by on-duty firefighting and medical personnel. The box generally will contain key(s) to gain entry to the house.
This has been proven beneficial for chronically ill or disabled persons, either temporary or permanently disabled.
With use of the Knox Box, the fire or medical personnel will not have to use forcible entry techniques to gain entry to the house, which sometimes lead to damage.

Residential The Rolling Meadows Fire Department offers a Knox Box leasing program on a first come first serve basis. With a $200 deposit, you can rent a Knox Box that we have in stock. Your $200 will be returned when the Knox Box is returned.

If the Fire Department does not have any available Knox Boxes, you can purchase your own Knox Box through the following website: www.knoxhomebox.com
Follow the instructions on the website and then contact the Fire Department once you receive your Knox Box.
