Project Information
The work included in this project shall consist of installing approximately 901 feet of 10-inch open cut ductile iron water main, approximately 86 feet of 10-inch water main bored and jacked in 20" casing, water service lines, valves, vaults, fire hydrants, pavement patching, concrete curb and gutter removal and replacement, restoration, and all other incidental work necessary to complete this improvement along Algonquin Parkway in the City of Rolling Meadows.

FAQS
HOW WILL I KNOW WHEN I WILL BE AFFECTED BY CONSTRUCTION?
This project is scheduled to begin on with the contractor installing traffic control devices, erosion control measures, and staging equipment/material. the contactor will begin excavating and installing the new watermain. The project is expected to be substantially completed by Early June. Residents will receive construction notifications throughout different phases of the project.
WILL I HAVE ACCESS TO MY DRIVEWAY?
Access to your buildings may be limited as the contractor crosses in front of your property with the installation.. The contractor will be working with residents to access their parking areas during construction.
WHAT IF I HAVE SPECIAL ACCESS REQUIREMENTS?
Residents should contact the City of Rolling Meadows Public Works Department at (847) 963-0500. The City will do its best to accommodate residents with specific special needs so long as we are informed in advance and can coordinate with the Contractor.
WILL MY WATER BE SHUT OFF?
Yes, but you will not be without water for the duration of the project. Planned shutoffs will occur after the installation of the new watermain as we tie in the watermain and water services. Notifications will be given to residents at least 24 hours in advance of any planned water shutoff. These shutoffs can last between 4-6 hours.
WILL MY GARBAGE BE PICKED UP?
Yes, your scheduled weekly pickup for garbage and recycling will be maintained. Please have containers ready for pickup prior to 6:00am.
WILL I RECEIVE MAIL DURING THE COURSE OF CONSTRUCTION?
Yes, mail delivery will not be affected during construction.
HOW LONG WILL THIS PROCESS TAKE TO COMPLETE?
The project is expected to be substantially complete by August 1, 2025 .

Construction the week of 7/21/25
On Wednesday/Thursday, the 23rd and 24th of July, TAT Paving will be on-site installing the asphalt patching to complete the restoration for the watermain project.
Traffic and access may be slow at times as the contractor removes the aggregate base and installs the asphalt patch.
This will complete the work for the watermain project.
